If not able to find one I would probably just get one 3d printed, but I found just keep searching there is some good stock out there just have to find it. But that being said if you have the tooth count and see what you can find that way. I assume your not meaning the motor but the gear itself. Sometimes other models have had the same gear size in them so might be worth a shot.

@@Gam3T3cHElectronics thank you for the advice. taking it to a shop, hopefully they can just source the parts and also look at what else I'm going to need done to refurb the whole unit rather than just fix the current issue.

Actually a little googling and I've already answered it. This is a linear power supply rather than a switching power supply

awesome glad you found what you needed! If you have any issues tho try installing through pi-apps off their github this was a battle to get done right but we are finally at the point where it gets real easy to install and keep up to date. github.com/Botspot/pi-apps

Its a long drawn out battle but ya I agree would be nice for one universal measurements for a ton of things out there.

Yes it is a standard audio file and VLC has supported it since the dawn of time. not sure how you would be outputting the sound but yes it will play it with no issues. just google .wav sound examples. you can also add visualization to VLC as well if you need a visual representation. but a bit of work if I remember right to get that setup. Might be a plugin for it now too, but I have not looked into that.

sounds like the torture I put mine through, along side old backup cds and tons of other harder plastics. I did have to oil the unit but you can buy cards that have the oil on them and send them through works great. but I had probably done about 4 big garbage bags before I did that it was a work horse cheap and did the job. Cooling down was a bit of a pain but it allowed me to organize more and separate and grab a coffee. I have used more expensive units that didn't perform as well as this unit. If I need a new one I would probably get this model again or equivalent just due to its ability to be cheap and run without any major issues. Not saying those will never happen its man made and things will get broken but I would use it well in the warranty period to make sure it was efficient and not going to die right away. keep us posted I am curious how it all ends for you its amazing how paper work just magically appears in massive piles lol.

this was part 1 of the videos as it states its just the Pi Camera Setup. the next one would have had more involved in it. but thank you for the comment. will certainly keep that in mind when labeling in the future. also its in the description of what is happening.

The way I look at it is if anything costs 50% or less to repair something, I will do it. Took sale prices into consideration and used a battery that was good not new from a medical supply shop and just swaped batteries with them for ones they were going to recycle. Armed with a good battery tester this one had more then enough life in it. As long as maintenance charging is done it will last. For as long as I had the unit from new I got my money out of it and sold it to a buddy and it's still doing alright not as good as once would think but usually 3-5 years out of these battery boosters is a win.

Also. When you slightly adjust the carrosel do you power up and try to load each time? If so ,how do you do that

I also tried to loadcds manually by removing the triangular door on the top of the carrosel but, the unit does not recognize any discs so I'm assuming that a CD has to pass through the slot to br recognized, ugh ,,, this thing is making me nuts

Well, usually, it's one or two spots off so what I do is back 1 forward 2 you will feel it to but after some practice if someone else has been in there then ya I'll have to keep rotating.

Yes, I try to test it. Sadly, I've had some where I can have top off and no problem and other not depends on the case.

its pretty annoying I will say that, takes alot of time and adjustment the first one I did I think I did for a few hours cursing and swearing. eventually you find the right spot for it. After the first one you get the hang of doing it more often and becomes second nature. but double check online if there is any manuals that might have tech information on it the service manual. you might get lucky.

ya just take the old one to a battery shop they will match it up depending on manufacturer will depend on ah rating.

Search for pi-apps install it and then run the installer from there will be more stable and updated its gone through some good changes on it. But have you tried creating that folder as well might work that route as well.

make sure the switch under the battery or close to it. If it has it is set to the same frequency of the bed. some beds have a box under them that have access to a switch as well. But were they working then not?

did you manage to get it working? sorry was off being sick didnt get to questions. I would need to know a bit more information of the steps you took and if the unit was fully updated. If you go into your terminal and bring up your history you can copy and paste the steps you took. open terminal and then type history hit enter.

sounds dud-ish to me only time I had that happen is with a battery with a dead cell in it.

it was a unboxing and testing not a review video. sure know alot more about it now and have certainly upgraded my kit since then of makerx stuff.

I know there is some bugs with vlc on the 64bit os but its a hit and miss so it should work with no issues but I have not tested it on the pi 5 as of yet. (still waiting for mine to show up) once it does I have slew of things to test to make sure its all still working on the pi 5 vs 4 and below.

can you see if it is slipping at all when it is in the play position?

not slipping the capstan. main tape drive motor is not turning nor does the tape pressing device move absolutely nothing happens @@Gam3T3cHElectronics

I would probably at this point make sure power is properly getting to the motor with a multi-meter to see if it is the motor or if something down the line. is it completely seized up? no manual rotation?

if you go to the utility cog you should be able to export from there to csv if you are playing the file back with .cap in the app itself.

There is a couple things you can do first one would be this in terminal: sudo raspi-config --->system options -----> audio-----> Select HDMI Option (there may be 2 options there test to confirm) The other option would be to either edit the config.txt file as an option or even trying something like this in terminal: sudo amixer cset numid=3 2 so there should be a few options there to get it to actually be set as default. (this is if the audio is not showing in the audio settings on the desktop) also make sure you are using a proper hdmi cable that the audio is actually working on. reverse your hdmi cable and test as well.

@@Gam3T3cHElectronics That was one of the things I tried. HDMI was not a choice just analog audio. The OS version I picked, used for the project I was working on (NordVP Meshnet) is Raspberry PI OS (32bit), A port of Debian Bullseye with the Raspberry Pi Desktop (Recommended) Released: 2023-05-03 Using the Imager program its the 1st choice. Installing NordVPN with Meshnet went fine. Would their be any existing projects using HDMI I could download, but not used the intended use but take advantage of the pre-configure HDMI for a TV ?
